On January 9th, 2002, we lost 7 Marines from VMGR-352 on KC-130 aircraft 160021.
This patch was created to support the RAIDR 04 memorial blade project.

For those that aren't quite familiar, I acquired a KC-130 propeller blade many years ago, and the intent is to carve or acid-etch a mural into the blade face similar to the mural that was once at VMGR-352 before being painted over.

I'm working on some newer concept art for the blade and building the support structure this week so the process can begin. Yesterday I found a sign shop that will help create the mask for the acid-etching process since that appears to be the most viable method.

Robert Turney paid for the entire batch of 100 patches, asking nothing in return except one for himself. 100% of each purchase goes towards the memorial blade project by acquiring materials, outside services such as the vinyl mask, and anything else related to finishing this project.

Over the next few weeks and months, I will be in communication with Steve Smith, the curator of the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum. As a former Raider himself, he's very interested in this project and has told me the blade would have a home there on display for all visitors to learn the story.

Please consider purchasing a patch, or making a donation on the homepage of the Marine Battleherk website towards this blade. The Marines of RAIDR 04 deserve to have their story told for generations to come.
