PC Maj Neilsen, Co pilot Capt James, FE was a SSGT whose name escapes me. Spider Jontz and Maj Walsh had gone in and out right ahead of us in 796 and took a lot of fire but I haven't seen any video of them. We were using a Royal Oak call sign, I am sure that confused the NVA radio intercept people for at least 2-3 min. I have seen more video out there of this scene from different cameras. I am sure they were all hoping for something as dramatic as Henry's arrival earlier in the month. Fuel leak is from 50 cal through the Aux tank. HJ

I was the R/O on 796 when it went in and remember having to wait for the dust to clear from the mortors. I've got out my log book and WO Clark was the PC. We had just flown B Gen Hoffman from DH to PB and had picked up 5 pallets of Ammo for Khe Sahn at Danang....ended up leaving them on the deck at KS as there wasn't a fork lift to take them off.....on the run....I kept really nice little notes in my log book...who, what when and where and what happened...didn't have the entire crew names...but often the PC and Nav....SSgt Beale was down there then.
