Hi Erich. Mark was a great guy with a sense of humor that was a little off center. That's probably why we got along so well. I remember he passed away shortly after he retired. I regret to say I can't remember if it was cancer or a heart attack.
Did you know Brad Warner? He died during routine surgery a few years ago.
Changing gears; I was at a Harley-Davidson rally in Albuquerque in 1995 & remembered Danny Pineda was from there. He worked part-time for the Orange County Sheriffs Dept. when we were at El Toro.
In one of the most unlikely coincidences, I walked up to a couple of Albuquerque policemen working the event & told them about Danny. I asked if they knew if he was with the police or sheriff's dept. One of them got this shocked look on his face & said, "He's not with the police dept, but he's my next door neighbor". What are the odds of that happening? Me & Danny hooked up for dinner the next day. This has happened to me half a dozen times since then. Three times in Nevada, once in San Antonio, & once at a bar in the desert. Weird, huh?

Hi Erich. You're right. My memory isn't what it use to be, but I remember you. I was with VMGR-252 from 1974-1975. VMGR-352 from 1975-1977, 1978-1984, 1985-1987, & 1995. VMGR-152 from 1977-1978, 1984, & 1987-1994. Sorry about taking so long to respond. I'm digging a hole in my backyard & I'm not very good about checking my emails.

I went over PCS in Jan of 80, then in April they made me part of the 352 Det. Not sure if we flew together, probably so. I flew 800 hours in '80. Semper Fi!
